TIMBRO PROJECTS TO EXPORT 40% MORE SUGAR IN 2024 AND STARTS BUSINESS WITH ETHANOL.

Brazilian trade platform Timbro aims to boost sugar exports by over 40% in 2024, targeting 2 million tons, while expanding into ethanol sales. The company, led by Jorge Guinle and Bruno Russo, exported 1.4 million tons of sugar in 2023, a 75% increase from 2022. Timbro plans to sell 50 million liters of ethanol in its first year of operation with the biofuel. Pietro Costantino, director of sugar and ethanol, underscores the flexibility ethanol offers in mitigating business risks. Timbro’s sugar trading has surged, from 50 thousand tons in 2018 to over 1 million tons in 2023. Revenue from sugar and ethanol is expected to hit R$6 billion this year. With ANP approval, Timbro enters the ethanol market, aiming for a significant role in India’s ethanol consumption and sustainable aviation fuel production.
