SUMMER CORN HARVEST REACHES 97% OF THE PLANTED AREA IN PARANÁ, REPORTS DERAL.

In Paraná, the removal of first-crop (summer) corn from fields has reached 97% of the area as of the 22nd, marking a 1 percentage point increase in a week. Second crop (winter or safrinha) corn harvesting has not yet commenced. Deral reports that 32% of the summer corn area is developing well, down from 37% a week earlier, while 43% is in average condition and 25% in poor condition. Second crop corn sees 69% of its area in good condition, with the remaining split between average (21%) and poor (10%). Growth stages range from vegetative development to maturation.
