ICTSI agreed to acquire CS Porto Aratu from SIMPAR for R$1.8 billion, subject to regulatory approvals. The transaction includes the ATU12 and ATU18 bulk terminals at the Port of Aratu in Bahia, key export facilities serving the MATOPIBA agricultural region. The deal comprises an equity value of R$750 million and approximately R$1 billion in net debt. Following more than R$900 million in modernization investments, the terminal has expanded its handling capacity to 9.5 million tonnes per year and is equipped to accommodate Panamax vessels, with potential for Post Panamax operations. The acquisition expands ICTSI’s footprint in Brazil’s bulk cargo sector and strengthens its position in the country’s agribusiness export corridor.
