TERMINALS IN THE PORTS OF VILA DO CONDE AND RIO DE JANEIRO AUTHORIZED FOR AUCTION BY BRAZIL’S FEDERAL AUDIT COURT

On May 7, Brazil’s Federal Audit Court approved the lease auction for terminal VCD29 at the Port of Vila do Conde (Pará) and cleared terminal RDJ07 at the Port of Rio de Janeiro for concession, advancing both projects. Terminal VCD29 will receive R$ 908.5 million over 25 years for dry bulk cargo like soy and corn, while RDJ07 will receive R$ 101.7 million to handle petroleum products, also under a 25-year lease. This follows Brazil’s first 2025 port auction in April, which awarded four terminals with R$ 2 billion in planned investments.
