The 2024/25 soybean harvest in Mato Grosso reached record productivity, averaging 66.3 bags per hectare—14 above the state average—across 12.8 million hectares. Despite a delayed start due to unstable rainfall, rapid planting followed, and favorable weather during crop development boosted yields. However, excess rain during harvest caused losses and increased disease and pest pressure. Regional performance was consistent, with strong results in the Middle North, North, and West. Success was linked to improved management, including better fungicide use and weed control. Key challenges included input supply and logistics. Consultant Élcio Bonfada highlighted planning and attention to detail as critical to the state’s productive potential.
