CARGO THROUGHPUT AT ITAJAÍ PORT RISES 11%, REACHING 4.8 MILLION TONNES IN 2025

The Port of Itajaí handled 4.8 million metric tonnes of cargo from January to April 2025, an 11% increase over the same period in 2024. In April alone, 1.13 million tonnes were moved, up 5% year-over-year, with exports slightly exceeding imports. The port operates 28 shipping lines and will add the Puma Line in May. Container handling also rose, with 58,902 units processed in April, totaling 109,275 TEUs — a 13% increase compared to April 2024. Operations span both the public wharf and the JBS-leased terminal.
