PORTS OF THE NORTHERN ARC ACCOUNT FOR 31.6% OF CORN AND SOYBEAN EXPORTS IN MARCH.

In March 2024, Brazilian exports of soybeans and corn reached 14.8 million tons, with 31.6% shipped through ports in the Northern Arc, including Itacoatiara, Santarém, and Barcarena. Although 14.6% lower than in 2023, this is the second-best result for the month. From January to March, 34.3 million tons were exported, a 3% increase compared to 2023. Soybeans totaled 27.3 million tons, growing by 31%, while corn reached 7.0 million tons, a 27.8% decrease. Ports in the Northern Arc handled 11.5 million tons, while traditional ports in the Southern Arc, such as Santos and Paranaguá, moved 22.8 million. This change contributes to cost reduction and emissions of polluting gases.
