PORT OPERATIONS GROW ALMOST 14% IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL PORTS

From January to October 2023, the ports of Rio Grande do Sul experienced significant growth in operations, totaling 37,544,373 tons, an increase of 13.94% compared to the same period in 2022. The data includes the productivity of public ports and companies in the industrial district of Rio Grande. The Port of Rio Grande led the growth with a positive variation of 14.44%, particularly excelling in the handling of soybeans (73.40%) and corn (72.14%). The Port of Pelotas saw a 5.34% increase, with a notable rise in the handling of timber logs. The Port of Porto Alegre recorded a growth of 4.47%, with fertilizer handling leading the way. Tecon Rio Grande also showed a 19.02% increase in container operations.
