PLANTS ARE MORE OPTIMISTIC THAN THE MARKET FOR THE 2024/25 SUGARCANE HARVEST.

Conab conducts four surveys per harvest on Brazil’s sugarcane sector, covering various aspects like crushing, planted area, and sugar and ethanol production. The first survey for 2024/25 suggests a potential 3.8% decrease in sugarcane crushing, totaling 685.86 million tons, with the Center-South region accounting for 625.4 million tons. Despite being lower than the previous season, Conab’s estimate is 3.6% less than predictions from 22 specialized companies consulted by NovaCana. Both Conab and market experts anticipate a smaller harvest compared to the record in 2023/24, although plants are more optimistic than the broader market.
