PETROBRAS: OIL DERIVATIVE SALES INCREASED BY 1% IN THE SECOND QUARTER

Oil derivatives sale in the second quarter of the year increased 1% when compared to the previous quarter. The upward fluctuation was mainly due to the increase of diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sales. According to Petrobras, the increase was partially offset by lower sales of gasoline, due to the greater supply of ethanol, and lower sales of fuel oil, as there were no deliveries for thermoelectric generation in the second quarter. The production of oil products was 2.6% above the first quarter of the year, in line with the total load factor (FUT) of the refining park of 89%, and 1.7% above the second quarter of the previous year. Diesel sales grew 4.7% from April to July when compared to the previous quarter. Gasoline sales in the second quarter fell by 6.6% in comparison with the first quarter of the year. LPG sales increased 8% in the second quarter of the year when compared to the first quarter. Aviation fuel (QAV) sales in the second quarter of this year declined 4.5% when compared to the previous quarter.
