SÃO PAULO EXPORTS RISE IN THE 1st HALF OF THE YEAR

Exports from the state of São Paulo closed the 1st half of 2022 with a strong increase of 26%, according to data from the Ministry of Economy. These shipments moved around US$ 32.1 billion, an increase of US$ 6.6 billion when compared to the same period last year. The main products exported were vehicles, meats, soy, aircraft, oils, cellulose, juices, civil engineering equipment, and sugar/syrup. The main destinations were China, and the United States. Each country bought nearly $5.5 billion worth of goods from the state. Considering China and the U.S, exports grew by 30% when compared to the 1st half of last year. São Paulo alone accounted for 20% of Brazilian exports and shipped much more than in 2019. Following China and the United States, the main exports destination was Argentina. Sales to the neighboring country grew 31.2% in the 1st half of 2022, moving US$ 3.2 billion and accounting for almost 10% of all foreign shipments.
