PARANÁ SEES CORN OUTPUT ABOVE 21 MILLION TONS ON RECORD PLANTED AREA

Paraná expanded first crop corn acreage by 31% in the 2025/26 season to 364,900 hectares, producing more than 4 million tonnes, according to Deral. Second crop corn area reached a record 2.9 million hectares, up 7% from the previous season. If weather conditions remain favorable, second crop output could exceed 17.5 million tonnes, lifting total corn production above 21 million tonnes. Growers increased corn planting due to more stable prices compared with soybeans. The state also completed its soybean harvest at 21.7 million tonnes, ranking among the three largest crops on record. Wheat planting has reached 61% of the projected area, with total acreage expected at 722,000 hectares and production estimated at 2.4 million tonnes.
