MOSAIC PLANS TO BOOST INVESTMENTS IN BRAZIL IN 2024

Mosaic will speed up investments currently underway in Brazil’s North and Northeast regions and will make its debut in bioinputs in 2024. With a BRL 400 million investment, one of the projects undertaken this year was the building of the Palmirante unit in Tocantins. The American multinational will begin producing small amounts of fertilizer in the form of a simple element, such as potassium chloride, at the facility in 2024, with a total capacity of 1 million tons of the product per year by 2028. Mosaic will increase potash processing at the Taquari-Vassouras Industrial Complex in Rosário do Catete, Sergipe, to 450 thousand tons in 2024, up from 300 thousand this year. This will be feasible thanks to BRL 800 million in expenditures made this year to sustain the extraction of sylvinite ore, which is utilized in potash production.
