RIO GRANDE DO SUL PORTS HIT SECOND-HIGHEST THROUGHPUT IN HALF A DECADE

Rio Grande do Sul ports achieved their second-highest throughput in five years, wrapping up 2023 with a 13.88% overall growth compared to 2022. Rio Grande Port, Pelotas, and Porto Alegre saw increases of 14.40%, 5.27%, and 2.65%, respectively, handling a total of 44,835,679 tons. This performance, the second-best in five years, is attributed to infrastructure investments and an internationalization strategy. As a public company for a year, Rio Grande do Sul ports have completed projects enhancing mobility and efficiency, with ongoing developments like the new Gate 2 expected to further improve operations.
