MINAS GERAIS SHIPS “GREEN LITHIUM” FOR THE FIRST TIME

Brazil shipped the world’s first “green lithium” produced in the Jequitinhonha Valley, in Minas Gerais this Thursday (7). The event took place in the port of Vitoria. The mineral is used to manufacture batteries, metal alloys, medical equipment, and pharmaceuticals. The production of long-lasting batteries for electric cars is the highlight. The consignment to the Chinese business Yahua contains 15,000 tons of high purity lithium and 15,000 tons of ultrafine waste. The pre-chemical lithium technological input was developed by the Brazilian company Sigma Lithium and was termed “green lithium” because the material exploration plant lacked a tailings dam.
