BAHIA LEADS IN SOYBEAN PRODUCTION

According to the National Supply Company’s (Conab) eleventh study of the 2022/23 grain harvest, Bahia has the highest soybean production index, surpassing Mato Grosso, Brazil’s typical soybean output leader. Bahia produced 4,020 kg/ha, which Conab attributes to the state’s strong technological package and favorable weather. Mato Grosso produced 3,773 kg/ha of soybeans, a record for a cultivated area of 12,086 thousand hectares. According to Conab, Brazil’s production volume will be greater than 317.6 million tons, a 16.5% increase or 44.9 million tons over the 2021/22 cycle, matching prior forecasts as the country’s largest ever produced.
