VLI INCREASES EXPORT CAPACITY WITH NEW DRAFT AT TIPLAM

The desilting works for draft increase were carried out between February 1st and February 25th, when the bathymetric survey revealed the prospect of improvement for export berths 2 and 3, with a 15 cm rise. The service was provided with the appropriate environmental agency (Cetesb) license and authorization from the Brazilian Navy via the Port Authority. VLI also monitored all environmental concerns, including the disposal of sediments as specified by the appropriate agencies. The depth increased to 13.35 meters, resulting in an increase in shipping capacity of 120 thousand tons more per year. Last year, approximately 8.1 million tons of agricultural goods were exported, compared to 7.3 million tons in 2021.
