IN PARANA, SECOND CROP OF CORN REACHES 87% OF PLANTED AREA

Paraná has already harvested 87% of the area of second crop corn for the 2018/19 cycle by Monday (August 12nd), said the Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Agriculture State supply. The advance was 6% over the previous week’s survey. The area planted with cereal in the state is estimated at 2.247 million hectares. Of the crops still to be harvested, 68% had good condition, 22% average condition and 10% bad condition, according to a survey by Deral. Of the total cultivated, 99% of the crops are maturing and 1% is fruiting. Regarding wheat, whose planting of 1.008 million hectares had already been completed, 60% had good condition, 31% average condition and 9% bad condition, reported Deral. The crops are in the fruiting stage (41%), vegetative development (24%), flowering (18%) and maturation (17%).
