BRAZILIAN AGRICULTURE EXPORTS HIT RECORD HIGHS IN 2023

Brazilian agriculture exports in 2023 hit a historic high of USD 126.22 billion between January and September, up 3.6% over the same period in 2022. Sales of soybeans and corn drove the upward performance. Exports of agriculture goods totaled USD 13.71 billion in September 2023, accounting for 48.2% of total Brazilian exports. This result was mostly affected by a decrease in the pricing of exported goods. The record grain harvest of 2022/2023 resulted in a significant rise in exporting volume. China was a crucial player, accounting for more than 80% of Brazilian soybean purchases. Additionally, sugar exports performed well, with large exports due to the rising worldwide prices. Corn exports have also seen an increase, with China being the primary import market.
