Agriculture exports in Brazil totaled USD 13.71 billion in September 2023, accounting for 48.2% of overall exports. Soybeans, corn, and sugar were the top three exports. Soybean crop exports hit a record 6.4 million tons, with China accounting for 80% of purchases. Soybean exports surged by 31.8% in September to USD 3.30 billion. Corn exports increased significantly as well, with China serving as the key market. Sugar shipments climbed by about 30% from USD 1.23 billion in September 2022 to USD 1.60 billion in September 2023. This expansion is due to a rise in average export prices and volume. From January to September 2023, Brazilian overseas sales hit a historic high of USD 126.22 billion, representing a 3.6% increase over the same period in 2022.
