BRAZIL SUGAR EXPORTS REACH 1.509 MILLION TONS IN FIRST 9 DAYS OF JANUARY, WITH 82% HIGHER DAILY AVERAGE

In the first nine business days of January, Brazil exported 1.509 million tons of sugar and molasses, generating US$806.22 million, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex). In the last week, more than 740,000 tons were shipped, contributing to the total of 3.853 million tons last month. Compared to the same period of January 2023, exports grew 82.20%, reaching an average daily of 167,77 thousand tons, in contrast to the 92,07 thousand tons of 2023. Prices also increased by more than 20%, reaching US$533.90 per ton, evidencing the solid performance in Brazilian sugar exports.
