BRAZIL AND PARAGUAY TO HOLD JULY MEETING ON PARAGUAY RIVER WATERWAY CONCESSION

Brazil’s Ministry of Ports and Airports will hold a technical meeting with Paraguayan officials later this month to move forward with negotiations for the Paraguay River waterway concession auction. As the waterway crosses Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia, all three countries must reach an agreement before the tender can proceed. Once technical discussions and project adjustments are completed, the government will begin the regulatory and administrative steps required before issuing the tender notice. Under the current schedule, the concession notice is due in the second half of 2026, with the auction targeted for the first half of 2027, subject to progress in talks with Paraguay and Bolivia.
