BRAZIL 2022/23 CORN CROP MAY REACH RECORD

Production of the 2022/23 crop is expected to reach 312.4 million tons, a record when compared to the last season (270.9 million tons). Conab expects corn production — the first, second, and third crops — of 126.9 million tons, up from the 112.8 million tons estimate for the 2021-22 season (12.5%). For the first corn crop, production is expected to increase by 14.6%, estimated at 28.69 million tons. The result is due to the expectation of productivity recovery in the current cycle.
