CONAB’S FORECAST CONFIRMS CORN ETHANOL GROWTH

Brazil’s Corn Ethanol Union (Unem) said that corn production increases in the 2022/23 season, estimated by Brazil’s Supply Company (Conab), reinforces the sector’s growth, which will have at least two more operating units in 2023. The corn ethanol sector expects to produce 10 billion liters of ethanol by 2030/31, growing twofold when compared to the current production. Brazil is expected to produce 126.941 million tons of corn in 2022/23, up 12.5% from the 2021/2022 cycle. The growth will be driven mainly by the production of the second crop, which should increase from 85.622 million tons to 96.276 million tons.
