APS OPENS CONSULTATION AIMING TO BUILD AND OPERATE PUBLIC BERTHS AT THE PORT OF SANTOS

The Port Authority of Santos (APS) has opened a consultation regarding the construction and operation of public berths in the Alemoa region on the right bank of the Port of Santos, exclusively for handling liquid bulk cargo. Contributions can be submitted until November 12 and will serve as the basis for a Public Call for Bids. Currently, the handling of liquid bulk cargo in the Alemoa region, including chemicals and fuels, is concentrated at a pier leased by Petrobras and under contracts with companies such as Granel Química, Stolthaven, Ultracargo, and Vopak. The APS has identified that the construction of public berths by companies operating liquid bulk cargo in the Alemoa region, either individually or as a consortium, would be efficient in expanding berthing capacity. This is considered timely due to the growing demand in the liquid bulk sector and the approval for the implementation of railway branches by the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT).
