APROSOJA BRAZIL ESTIMATES 2023/2024 CROP AT 135 MILLION TONS

Aprosoja Brazil estimates that the 2023/2024 crop will reach only 135 million tons, a significantly lower figure than projections from other institutions. Central-West states such as Mato Grosso, Goiás, and Mato Grosso do Sul have faced water stress and excessive rainfall, impacting the harvest and harming farmers. The situation worsens in the southern part of the country, especially in Paraná, where excessive rainfall during planting and a lack of it during the reproductive phase affect crop productivity. Aprosoja warns of the discrepancy between reported data and reality, causing a drop in prices and losses for producers, urging caution and business reevaluation.
