PORT OF SALVADOR ENDS MAY WITH A HISTORIC RESULT

The Port of Salvador handled more than 200,000 tonnes of imported bulk cargo in May, the highest monthly volume ever unloaded at the Commercial Wharf. The result underscores gains from Bahia’s Zero Queue Project, which has improved vessel turnaround and operational efficiency. Port stakeholders attributed the performance to coordinated efforts among cargo owners, terminal operators, labor, and public institutions. Momentum continued into June with the arrival of only the second Panamax vessel to berth at the port, expanding handling capabilities and supporting Bahia’s position in Brazil’s logistics and trade network.
