Brazil’s corn exports totaled 250,449 tonnes in May 2026, up 543.4% from 38,928 tonnes shipped in May 2025, according to Secex data. The surge in export volumes offset a sharp decline in prices, with the average export value falling 42.9% year on year to US$266.6 per tonne. Export revenue nevertheless reached US$66.8 million, compared with US$18.2 million a year earlier. On a daily basis, revenue rose 267.2% to US$3.34 million, while average shipments increased from 1,854 tonnes to 12,523 tonnes per working day. The figures point to a recovery in Brazil’s corn export flow, with stronger volumes more than compensating for weaker international prices.
