WITH 26% GROWTH, SÃO FRANCISCO DO SUL CONSOLIDATES IN SC

In the period from January to September 2023, the Port of São Francisco do Sul moved 12.4 million tons, surpassing the private port terminals Portonave (11.5 million) and Itapoá (8.3 million). The growth of 26% compared to the same period of 2022 was driven by the super harvest of soybeans and corn, which represented 7.5 million tons of the port’s exports. Investments made in the port’s infrastructure, such as the opening of a new access for trucks and the revitalization of the loading and unloading areas for goods, also contributed to the increase in cargo handling. As a result, the Port of São Francisco do Sul consolidated itself as the largest port in Santa Catarina and increased its participation in the movement of goods in the South Region of the country, from 7.1% in 2019 to 9.2% in 2023.
