VLI REPORTS RECORD VOLUMES ON THE NORTHERN CORRIDOR IN 2025

VLI reported record volumes on its Northern Corridor in 2025, reaching ~15 bn TKU (+4.1% YoY), consolidating the route as a key export axis for Matopiba cargo. At the Port of Itaqui, the São Luís Port Terminal (TPSL) handled ~5.8 Mt at Berth 105, an all-time high. The corridor moves grains (soybeans, corn, meals), pulp, fuels, and pig iron via the North-South Railway (northern section) and Carajás Railway, supported by intermodal hubs in Porto Franco (MA), Porto Nacional and Palmeirante (TO). TIPN and TIPA marked 10 years with ~59 Mt handled; volumes rose from 1.9 Mt (2016) to 8 Mt (2025), +320%. Rail throughput increased from 5.4 bn to 14.9 bn TKU over the same period. Investments above BRL 260 mn underpin truck-to-rail transfers and storage capacity, supporting export flows.
