Brazil’s ports and waterways handled 101.0 Mt in February, up 3.78% month-on-month. Private-use terminals (TUPs) led gains, moving 67.7 Mt (+8.9%), reinforcing the role of private capex and operational efficiency. Long-haul shipping reached 69.1 Mt (+3.6%), while cabotage rose to 24.5 Mt (+8.2%). By cargo, liquid bulk increased 11.2% to 26.9 Mt; containers grew 10.2% to 12.4 Mt, with volumes at 1.2 mn TEUs (+14.1%); solid bulk was stable at 57 Mt (+0.2%). Notable port performance included Suape at 2.1 Mt (+19.3%) and Ponta Ubu at 1.4 Mt (+83%). Commodity flows showed coal at 1.6 Mt (+48.8%), salt at 741 kt (+39.1%), and crude oil at 17.7 Mt (+16.2%). Data indicates continued expansion in export capacity and domestic logistics integration.
