UNICA SEES HYDROUS ETHANOL SALE RECOVERING IN FEBRUARY

In the first half of February 2022, the mills in the center-south region of Brazil did not process any sugarcane, said the industry group Unica on a report. However, corn ethanol production reached 157.24 million liters, an increase of 38.76% when compared to the same period in 2021. Of the total produced, hydrous ethanol accounted for 107.61 million liters (+30.69%) and anhydrous 49.63 million liters (+60.22%). The 2021/2022 season now accumulates 27.04 billion liters of ethanol (- 8.90%), of which 3.04 billion come from grain processing (+37.38%). On the domestic market sales of hydrous ethanol by producers totaled 569.57 million liters, an increase of 21.64% over the volume of the second half of January (468.23 million liters). The amount of anhydrous ethanol sold in the first half of February 2022, in turn, had a positive change of 18.17%, with 449.44 million liters sold compared to 380.33 million liters in the last fortnight.
