The increase in Tiplam’s operational draft enabled Tereos to load a record 75,000 tonnes of VHP sugar on a single vessel bound for China, surpassing its previous record of 70,000 tonnes set in 2025. The shipment took place between June 17 and 19 following dredging works completed by VLI in 2025, which increased the draft at the terminal’s berths and the Piaçaguera channel from 13.35 metres to 14.10 metres, boosting vessel loading capacity by about 10%. Tereos’ sugar volumes handled through Tiplam have risen more than 90% over the past five crop cycles. The terminal’s overall record remains 83,000 tonnes of VHP sugar loaded by bp bioenergy in August 2025
