MATO GROSSO SEES RECORD CORN OUTPUT IN 2025/26 CROP

Mato Grosso is expected to harvest a record 57.06 million tonnes of corn in the 2025/26 season after Imea raised its production forecast by 7% from June, exceeding the previous record of 55.4 million tonnes. The upward revision was driven by higher yields, with average productivity increasing to 128.64 bags per hectare, while planted area remained unchanged at 7.39 million hectares, up 1.8% year-on-year. As of last week, about 60% of the state’s corn area had been harvested. Imea maintained its 2026/27 soybean crop forecast at 48.88 million tonnes, below the record 51.55 million tonnes harvested in the previous season.
