THE 2023-24 SUGARCANE HARVEST DEVELOPS QUICKLY IN THE CENTER-SOUTH REGION

The 2023-24 sugarcane harvest in the Center-South region is at a fast pace, with 111 units operating in the first 15 days of April, totaling 171 active units, an increase compared to the same period of the previous harvest. Sugar output has climbed by 30.97%, reaching 710 thousand tons, while ethanol production has increased by 7.20%, to 840.73 million liters. It is worth mentioning that hydrous ethanol production has increased by 39.36%. With a cumulative crushing of 11.92 million tons as of April 28, the industry is bullish and expects a record crushing of 650 million tons this harvest.
