TARIFF READJUSTMENT COMPLETED IN ITAGUAÍ AND CABEDELO, SAYS ANTAQ

Brazil’s National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) concluded the tariff standardization procedures for the Organized Port of Itaguaí, managed by the state-company CDRJ. The changes applied to the tariff collection system will be further detailed in Brazil’s Federal Gazette. It is worth remembering that the standardization effort establishes new tariff modalities and collection tables, as in the case of Table I, whose incidence is now measured by DWT. In addition to the standardization, ANTAQ approved a Tariff Readjustment Index (IRT) of 34.95% in the values previously collected at the Port of Itaguaí. The measure was taken to match the current inflation in the country, which wasn’t done since 2016 at CDRJ. ANTAQ also approved the appeal filed by Companhia Docas da Paraíba (Docas/PB), effectively changing the tariff review carried out in 2022 at the Port of Cabedelo.
