SUGARCANE PRODUCTIVITY FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER 22/23 GROWS BY 7%

Brazil’s Center-South average productivity of sugarcane increased by 7.9% when compared to the 2021/22 season, according to a bulletin released by the Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC). The accumulated average for the crop year, from April to October, increased from 68.1 tons per hectare in 2021/22 to 73.5 tons per hectare in the current 2022/23 crop. “The bulletin’s data allow us to infer that the sector, unlike previous years, has been harvesting younger sugarcane fields, focusing on the cutting age,” said CTC. October brought greater volumes of rainfall in Paraná as well as in the southern region of São Paulo.
