SUGARCANE: AVERAGE PRODUCTIVITY GROWS IN THE 2023-24 HARVEST

In the 2023-24 sugarcane harvest in Brazil’s Center-South, the average productivity reached 89.3 tons per hectare until October, representing an increase of 21.5% compared to the same period of the previous season. Data from the Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC) reveal a yield of 77.3 tons per hectare in October, an increase of 14.5% compared to the previous cycle. The regions of Araçatuba, Piracicaba, and São José do Rio Preto experienced the highest productivity increases. Additionally, the quality of the raw material, as measured by ATR, improved compared to the previous harvest.
