SOYBEAN HARVEST REACHES 84% IN BRAZIL; SECOND CORN FACES CHALLENGES IN PARANA

Brazil’s soybean harvest in 2023-24 covered 84% of the planted land, thanks to increased activity in Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia, and Piauí states. Rio Grande do Sul stands out for its high yields, but the second corn crop faces difficulty in Paraná owing to heat and a lack of consistent rainfall. Although a wave of rain was reported last week, particularly in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, it was not evenly distributed. Crops are growing well in Mato Grosso, Goiás, and Minas Gerais, with a good harvest expected in the second half of May.
