SOUTH AMERICAN SOYBEAN CROP 22/23 TO REACH 190 MILLION TONS

The fourth study by Datagro Graos for the South American soybean crop in 2022–2023 confirms that production in South America rose compared to the previous season. Datagro estimates that 190.46 million tons should be grown, an increase of 3% from 185.60 million tons in 2021–2022. Soybean plantings totaled 66.54 million hectares, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year. Brazil, the world’s largest producer, is predicted to produce 155.91 million tons of soybeans, up 12% from the record harvest of 138.82 million tons in 2020–21. Brazil’s grain acreage increased from 42.16 million hectares to 44.40 million hectares for 16 years in a row.
