SÃO PAULO’S 2021/22 WHEAT CROP CLOSES WITH A RECORD OF 400 THOUSAND TONS

São Paulo’s wheat output reached a record of 400 thousand tons in 2022. “We managed to reach the expectations and we still expect to increase these numbers, as some data from producers and cooperatives have not yet been accounted for. The quality of São Paulo’s wheat has been preserved in recent years, despite the bad weather in its production cycle. This just proves that we are on the right path”, said Ruy Zanardi, the President of the Sectorial Chamber of São Paulo Wheat. The record volume is good news for the whole wheat chain in the state of Sao Paulo because it increases the availability of outstanding wheat flour for other sectors, such as bakery, pasta, cookies, pizzas, etc.
