BRAZIL’S SECOND CORN CROP BOOSTS THE MARITIME FREIGHT MARKET IN THE PORTS OF PARANÁ

The export of agricultural products has been boosting the sea freight market in the ports of Paraná. Corn exports could considerably rise in the Port of Paranaguá from July to September and reach 2.071 million tons, up 3,256% from the 61.7 thousand tons of the third quarter of 2021. In the third quarter of 2022, the port of Paranaguá is expected to ship 7.233 million tons of soybeans, soybean meal, corn, and sugar in bulk, up 24% from the same period last year. The National Supply Company (Conab) forecasts that corn production will be a record this season – 86.1 million tons.
