SÃO PAULO GOVERNMENT TO REOPEN SUGAR, ETHANOL AND BIOENERGY SECTOR CHAMBER

The Secretary of Agriculture of São Paulo, Guilherme Piai, attended the opening of the 18th Coopershow, the largest agribusiness event in the Paranapanema Valley. The São Paulo Agriculture Department announced the reopening of the Sugar, Ethanol, and Bioenergy Sector Chamber after three years. The sugarcane sector set a record in São Paulo’s agribusiness trade balance in 2024, accounting for 40.1% of exports, with sugar making up 93% of the R$74.16 billion total. Institutions like Apta Regional and the Agronomic Institute (IAC-Apta) participated to share information and identify new research opportunities. The event reinforced São Paulo’s commitment to technological advancements and sustainable rural development.
