SALES OF ANHYDROUS ETHANOL GROW 11.61% SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE 2022/23 CROP

The production units in Brazil’s Center-South sold 1.20 billion liters of ethanol in the first half of October, a growth of 15.1% over the same period of the 2021/22 season, according to the Sugarcane Industry Association (Unica). The volume of hydrous ethanol sold was 670.28 million liters, an increase of 15.17% when compared to the previous cycle. Domestic sales of anhydrous ethanol totaled 457.12 million liters in the fortnight, a growth of 5.80%. In the year-to-date balance, about 8.94 billion liters of hydrous ethanol (-3.68%) and 5.82 billion liters of anhydrous ethanol (+ 4.36%) were sold in the domestic market. Since the beginning of the 2022/23 season, the production units have sold 16.07 billion liters of ethanol, an increase of 1.59% when compared to the same period of the last season.
