RS SAFRA 2025/26: CORN HARVEST ENTERS ITS FINAL STRETCH.

Rio Grande do Sul’s 2025/26 corn harvest reached 90% of 803,019 ha, with progress constrained by rainfall and high grain moisture, particularly in the south. State yields are estimated at 7,424 kg/ha, with output projected at 5.96 million tons. Remaining fields are mid- and late-cycle crops benefiting from recent precipitation. Grain quality is generally satisfactory, though wet conditions have required tighter harvest management. Silage harvest reached 87% of 345,299 ha, with excess moisture affecting cutting efficiency and silo compaction, posing risks to fermentation quality. Soybean harvest continues under uneven rainfall, increasing operational costs and widening yield variability; average yield stands at 2,871 kg/ha. First-crop beans are nearly complete, with irrigated yields up to 2,800 kg/ha versus 900–1,200 kg/ha in rainfed areas; state average is 1,781 kg/ha. Second-crop beans show favorable development, with yields projected at 1,401 kg/ha.
