RS 2025/26 HARVEST: SOYBEAN HARVEST REACHES 79% OF THE AREA

Soybean harvesting in Rio Grande do Sul reached 79% of the 6.62 million hectares planted for the 2025/26 crop, with average yields estimated at 2,871 kg/ha, according to Emater/RS. Frequent rains and high humidity continue to limit fieldwork, narrowing harvest windows and increasing grain damage, impurities and disease pressure, including Asian soybean rust. Yield performance remains uneven, with drought-affected areas reporting losses exceeding 50% of productive potential. Corn harvesting advanced to 92% of planted area, with state productivity estimated at 7,424 kg/ha despite weather-related delays. Rice harvesting reached 93%, supported by strong yields averaging 8,744 kg/ha and satisfactory grain quality. The first bean crop harvest was completed with yields of 1,781 kg/ha, while second-crop beans remain under pressure from excess moisture and disease risks.
