RIO GRANDE DO SUL: SOYBEAN PLANTING IS COMPLETED, CORN PLANTING IS IN ITS FINAL STAGE

The soybean crop in Rio Grande do Sul is showing proper development with medium-sized plants because of excessive wetness. Corn planting is almost finished with 96% of the crop already planted. The harvest has reached 21%, with yields somewhat better than expected but still below projections. Corn silage has covered 84% of the planned area. Beans cultivation in the Northwest region has marked the completion of the first harvest, which is expected to total 29,053 hectares. Rice planting has finished, with an area of 902,425 hectares. Excessive rains and high temperatures are causing harm to vegetable crop cultivation. Climate conditions are favorable for the growth of bananas and citrus in fruit production.
