RICE OUTPUT REACHES 7.2 MILLION TONS IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Production in the state of Rio Grande do Sul was 7,239,985 tons, with a yield of 8.79 tons per hectare on a planting area of 839,972 hectares. This is Rio Grande do Sul’s second greatest rice production ever reached, only eclipsed by the 2020/2021 harvest, which achieved 9.01 t/ha. The most common cultivars were Irga. Soy output reached 506 thousand hectares in this crop, the highest figure in 14 years. Corn in lowlands reached production of 71,998 tons and yield of 6.51 ton/ha this season.
