RECORD WHEAT PRODUCTION CAUSES A DROP IN THE PRICE OF FLOUR AND BREAD

The record wheat production in Brazil, as well as the wheat harvest period for the 2021/22 crop, resulted in a slight decrease in the prices of special flours and French bread, according to data from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Supply. According to the data, the value dropped by only 1% as a result of the conflict in Ukraine. In December, producers in Paraná received an average of BRL 93.73 per bag of wheat. It is 6% higher than in December 2021 (BRL 88.17). Brazil’s wheat output is estimated to be 9.5 million tons. 3.38 million tons of hectares should be produced by Paraná.
