Public health network of São Paulo (SUS) receives 250 thousand liters of alcohol 70% from UNICA members

In a solidarity campaign, the Union of the Sugarcane Industry (UNICA), through its members, will donate 250,000 liters of alcohol 70% to the public health network of the state of São Paulo to contain the coronavirus. The action is part of the operation involving six states, in a total of 1 million liters delivered to the State Health Departments of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. São Paulo will have a different distribution of what has been done in other states. In addition to production, UNICA will be responsible for filling the solution in 250-liter gallons and 20- and 5-liter drums, which can already be used by health services. For this, filling lines will be set up at five points, in voluntary work and at no cost to the public coffers. The containers will be directed to the 16 administrative regions in a division that takes into account the number of inhabitants, with delivery to central bodies. Firefighters. IHARA, UNIPAC (Grupo Jacto) and Braskem donated bombons; the Brazilian Association of Transport and Logistics of Dangerous Products (ABTLP) will assist with the displacement of cargo in its own vehicles, and the National Union of Fuel and Lubricant Distribution Companies (Sindicom) will contribute with the diesel oil that will be used.
